Below are some lovely creatures that share our Falcao Forest home in Northwest Florida

This is Chance...he's still with us and has made himself quite at home over these last 6 months.

Here he is taking a spin in our laundry basket.

Black Racer - Coluber constrictor

I found this guy in the front yard as I walked out the front door. Since he's harmless, I watched him go about his business from a distance.

<-- This is "Chance".

He is a young male Tonkinese / Bermese cross. He is a Blue, Seal Point and he showed up at our front door Dec. 4th. He is a house cat and was shivering outside, desperate to get into the house. We have taken him in and have placed notices with the county shelter and on craig's list to find his previous owner. We suspect he was dumped off. He will be neutered on Dec. 7th.

More than likely, he will remain with us here at Falcao as a companion for my daughter.

Racoon - Procyon lotor

The Pack Treed this guy on Aug. 21, 2009.

They are adding to their collection of critters discovered in our forest.

Scientific name: Elaphe guttata guttata

Common names: Corn Snake, Red Rat Snake or Chicken Snake

This little bugger scared the nonsense out of me when I opened up the pump house to water my trees. He/she was lying in the doorway. Even though I screamed, this little bugger never moved.

I have never seen this many Robins in one place before ! We had at least 40 in the backyard and another 40 in the front with more flying in. It looked like an Alfred Hitchcock movie!

We also play GOLF and here are some critters we discovered on the course:

Snapping Turtle in pond just off putting green

Small Gator 2-3 feet long, opposite of pond from snapping turtles. next to putting green

Bigger Gator about 6 feet long just off another putting green
